During the 50th Annual General Meeting of the Colloid Society, held on 10-12 May 2021 as a virtual event together with the Bunsentagung 2021 with the theme Multi-Scale Modelling & Physical Chemistry of Colloids, the following Colloid Society Awards were presented:
- Ostwald Award: Hans-Jürgen Butt, Mainz
- Steinkopff Award: Joachim Venzmer, Essen
- Liesegang Award: Rumiana Dimova, Potsdam
- Zsigmondy Award: Tobias König, Dresden
Hans-Jürgen Butt

Joachim Venzmer
Joachim Venzmer, Evonik Operations GmbH, Essen, received the Steinkopff Award in recognition of his work on controlling and optimizing the wetting of different surfaces.
Rumiana Dimova
Rumiana Dimova, Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Potsdam, received the Liesegang Prize in recognition of her work on lipid bilayers and biomembranes.
Tobias König
